Baroque Without Borders

Music from England, France, Italy and Germany

Featuring Georgia Browne (baroque flute) and Matthew Nisbet (theorbo)
Baroque Without Borders

With music by Bach, Corelli, Purcell, Marais and Vivaldi you’ll hear contrasting styles of baroque music as played in France, Germany, Italy and England during the 17th and 18th centuries. Two of the pieces in this concert are included with the GCSE music syllabus in mind. To encourage those taking GCSE Music to hear these pieces ‘live’, our Family ticket allows an adult to bring one school age person free of charge.

We are delighted to be joined for this concert by flautist, Georgia Browne and by Matthew Nisbet, theorbo. Georgia is principal flute with Ensemble Pygmalion in France and is a regular guest of ensembles throughout the UK, Europe and Australia. Matthew is a player of historical plucked string instruments. He performs as a continuo player with leading UK period-instrument groups, as a chamber musician and as recital soloist.
