Welcome the New Year, Medieval style, with live-looping medieval minstrel Lizzie Gutteridge.
Consort of 1 is Lizzie Gutteridge's live-looping Early Music project, using modern technology to give ancient melodies the lightest of modern make overs. A one-woman band using a wide range of historical instruments from aulos to bagpipes, medieval fiddles, shawms and recorders, and performing music from the 1st century AD onwards.
In this programme the arrival of the New Year is celebrated with beautiful and upbeat melodies from the distant past.
