50th Anniversary Concert for the Norfolk Churches Trust

When composer Telemann reached the age of 60 he started gardening, sharing this newfound passion with his friend Handel, who frequently took inspiration from the natural world with musical depictions of the beauty of plants and flowers.
Friendship and Flowers blends a selection of Handel’s famous Deutsche Arien with highlights from Telemann’s Morality Cantatas, lessons in life (for example, drink more coffee), juxtaposed with botanical beauty.
These vocal works partner with short instrumental pieces by Handel, as well as fellow coffee lover JS Bach.
