Armonico Consort and Director Christopher Monks bring their celebrated cinematic, surround-sound polychoral performances to Ely Cathedral as part of their 25th Anniversary concerts.

Celebrating the enduring influence of Monteverdi, Gabrieli and the Venetian School, the programme features the rare performance of Francisco Valls’ Missa Scala Aretina, excerpts from Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610, and atmospheric interludes inspired by the music of Hildegard of Bingen.

The concert also includes a world premiere by Hollywood film composer David Buckley, performed with local schools and guest choirs, before culminating in Tallis’ monumental 40-part Spem in Alium, with singers positioned throughout the Cathedral to create a thrilling immersive sound experience.
