Bach: Mass in B minor

Bach: Mass in B minor
The spiritual and musical summation of a life, JS Bach’s Mass in B minor is one of the most powerful and universal statements in art, as well as one of the most joyous musical experiences of the repertoire. This compendium of styles and textures – thrilling contrapuntal choruses, virtuosic and emotive arias and duets, brilliantly inventive orchestral writing – comes together in a deeply moving musical epic.

Continuing their ‘tremendous’ Proms performances of sacred Baroque masterpieces, Arcangelo and Music Director Jonathan Cohen return with an exciting team of soloists that includes soprano Jeanine De Bique and countertenor Hugh Cutting.

Performers:
Jeanine De Bique soprano
Eva Zaïcik soprano
Hugh Cutting counter-tenor
Nick Pritchard tenor
Florian Störtz bass-baritone
Arcangelo
Jonathan Cohen director/harpsichord
