Named after ballad dating from 1615, this programme contains a variety of music, words and songs from 16th and 17th Century Britain: lutesongs, broadside ballads, theatre songs, madrigals, consort songs, divisions, masque music, dance tunes, and a devotional song or two. It is a collection of music we take delight in and hope you do too - we make no excuse for the jumble!
