An extraordinarily intense and passionate programme of François Couperin’s music, performed by keyboardist Alastair Ross and friends — soaring soprano lines interwoven with expressive dissonances and suspensions, supported by a rich accompaniment of cello, theorbo, and organ. At its heart, the dramatic and virtuosic Easter motet Victoria, Christe resurgenti, alongside a chaconne by Louis Couperin for all three instruments, and organ works from the Messe pour les couvents, performed on the magnificent William Drake organ in the chapel.
