Florilegium and a dream-team quartet of singers mark the month of Johann Sebastian Bach's birthday with a celebratory evening of sacred and secular compositions. The composer's music, central to the period-instrument ensemble's repertoire since its foundation in the early 1990s, speaks of life's heightened experiences and the infinite greatness of creation. Florilegium's Palm Sunday programme opens with the graceful Sinfonia from one of Bach's finest church cantatas and includes his Easter Oratorio, a joyful work launched with a blaze of trumpets and drums.
