Iken Scholars

Iken Scholars
Founded in 2012, the Iken Scholars are a London-based chamber choir dedicated to exploring the rich and often overlooked treasures of Renaissance polyphony. Under the direction of Matthew Dunn, the ensemble has built a reputation for combining scholarly curiosity with vibrant performance, bringing forgotten masterpieces alongside recognised works of the Renaissance canon to modern audiences.

The choir specialises in uncovering little-heard repertoire from England and continental Europe, with a particular interest in works that have rarely, and sometimes never, been heard in modern performance. Alongside this commitment to musical discovery, the Iken Scholars regularly present landmark compositions by composers such as Tallis, Byrd, Victoria, Palestrina, Lassus, Gombert, Monteverdi and Gabrieli, placing them within thoughtful and historically informed programmes.
