Felix Ensemble

Felix Ensemble
The Felix Ensemble is a recently established string ensemble of chamber musicians and soloists brought together by violinist Jane Gordon. Featuring some of Europe’s most prestigious performers on period instruments, the players enjoy busy international tour schedules, frequently heard on BBC Radio 3 and in the finest concert halls and festivals.

The ensemble’s debut concert in 2023 featured Mendelssohn’s Octet in a rarely heard original version, taken from an autographed score dated Berlin, 1825. This inspired the name Felix Ensemble and set the tone for their imaginative programming, which links Baroque composers such as Purcell and Bach with Mendelssohn and his contemporaries. The Felix Ensemble has performed for the London Bach Society, Baroquestock, and the Vinehall International Concert Society, and is the resident ensemble at the Hastings Chamber Music Festival. Plans for debut recording are currently in development.
