Ensemble Molière

Ensemble Molière
Continuo Grantee
Ensemble Molière is a dynamic Early Music ensemble with a passion for the French Baroque. With a unique line-up of instruments, they create memorable and imaginative programmes combining historical performance and bold story-telling.

Ensemble Molière made their debut at London’s Wigmore Hall in April 2026, following two years as the first-ever BBC Radio 3 New Generation Baroque Ensemble (in partnership with BBC Radio 3, the National Centre for Early Music, and the Royal College of Music). They have performed throughout the UK and Europe, including concerts at the Buxton International Festival, Beverley Early Music Festival, Lammermuir Festival, MA Festival Fringe in Bruges and Festival Oude Muziek Fringe in Utrecht. Ensemble Molière are former members of the BREMF Live! scheme and the ‘Future Artists’ platform (London Festival of Baroque Music), were finalists at the York Early Music International Young Artists Competition and have been selected for several Continuo Foundation grant awards.

Ensemble Molière’s first cross-arts project, Pygmalion, was part-funded by Arts Council England and featured an innovative combination of opera and digital media. More recently, the group joined forces with two clowns to create a music theatre show, Good Soup, in celebration of the 400th anniversary of their namesake, the French playwright and actor Molière. This production explored Molière’s world through his words and the music of his time, and premiered in London in the intimate surroundings of Sands Films Studio with the support of Continuo Foundation, The Marchus Trust and Angel Early Music.

Ensemble Molière’s debut album, The King’s Playlist, was released in March 2024 to great acclaim. Their second album Hidden Gems will be released in November 2026.
