Ensemble Jupiter

Ensemble Jupiter
Ensemble Jupiter is a French Baroque & Early Music orchestra created and directed by famed British-French lutenist Thomas Dunford, bringing together a 'collective of exceptional musicians from the new generation', handpicked for their skill and renown. The great freedom, energy, listening and improvisation skills of each individual musician allow them to perform with passion, strength, and emotion as a virtuoso ensemble. Their mastery is on display in all genres from Vivaldi to Joaquin Rodrigo through Handel, Destouches, Couperin, Mancini or original compositions by Thomas Dunford and Douglas Balliett.

Their first disc, dedicated to the music of Vivaldi, was released in 2019. Alongside regular collaborator, the mezzo-soprano Lea Desandre, in September 2025, they released Songs of Passion, a collection of vocal and instrumental music by John Dowland and Henry Purcell.
