Accenti

Accenti explores the innovations in music driven by performers during the late renaissance and early baroque. Exploring both melody line ornamentation and the ways in which ornamentation and division techniques were used in the process of intabulations, the ensemble builds programmes centred around specific historical groups of performers and their techniques.

Formed in 2019 Accenti has developed several different programmes and performed around the UK. Harry Buckoke and Hannah Ely met through the ensemble Dowland Works, a collective of both young and experienced musicians co-ordinated by Dame Emma Kirkby, whose expertise in English early baroque and late renaissance repertoire, particularly in the delivery of text and story-telling, has been invaluable.

Accenti have performed at Handel Hendrix House, St Giles in the Fields, London, Early Music in the Marches, Discoed, Wales, The Orpheus Institute in Ghent and All Saints Church, New Forest, Dorset. They are looking forward to being Artists-in-Residence at Schloss Weißenbrunn in Germany in 2024.
